Innovation and revolution. Waste management
Smart trash containers have wireless sensors installed that can measure the fullness of the bin and then send this data to a monitoring and analysis platform. Based on this data, waste collection services can organize their collection routes and schedule.
Thanks to smart garbage compactors that compress the garbage when it exceeds a predetermined limit, it is possible to optimize the garbage collection schedule, implicitly reducing the costs related to this service. Also, the compactors are equipped with sensors that detect human presence and stop processing, and if a fire is detected, the relevant authorities are alerted.
In the field of sanitation, this smart bin system brings a number of benefits, such as using fewer containers, fewer employees, cost reductions, reduced environmental impact, a cleaner city, optimized activity, less traffic. At the moment, this modern system is not implemented in Romania, but institutions in all countries have this variant available, and in the future it will more than likely be considered a normal system.
In the process of becoming a smart city, using big data analytics to help improve operations and monitoring to create long-term benefits for society, smart waste management is just as important as smart safety, smart transportation or intelligent energy.
