Data center – The foundation of a smart city

Data collection involves a major responsibility and requires the start of cost-effective and efficient administration systems, based on data access services in an electronic format that is easy to access and administer.

More and more cities have created data centers where information provided by IoT devices or by public administrations providing public services is collected, and fast access to data will always be an important element in the progress of public services, business and innovation.

The Netherlands, for example, has created data centers in partnership with the Central Bureau of Statistics and the university environment, where they operate competent teams of experts and facilitators who do research in this field. The use of data in public administration has led to the development of public services.

Collaboration between professionals in the field is certainly welcome and can facilitate the avoidance of some stages of realization in order to shorten the time from the design phase to actual use.
